Exhibit outcome of Slot Shelters will be construction explorations built by the public using the large scale 40′ x22.5″ slot cards as well the small slot card. These cards will be printed with QR codes linking to Slot Shelters website pages displaying youth community reflections of digital photos and digital patterns. These construction explorations will be conducted:
- at libraries
- at art festival events. Installations during the Zero1 Art & Technology Biennial 2012 and in community spaces in other participating states.
- in surprise spots, that is, in locations identified by lead artists and students as spaces with shelter/structure needs (bus shelters with no shade, waiting spaces, and the spaces in between…forgotten nooks and crannies of public environments). The public happening upon stacks of the slot cards will build the temporary structures. Video documentation of collaborative constructions will be shared on the project website.
